Forget the typical pub food, haggis, and Cullen skink found throughout the area, and take a short detour to Hercules, where you can find a charming farm-to-table café. They offer a wonderful selection of vegetarian soups, sandwiches, salads, and more. It was certainly a lovely way to combat jet lag. I am a bit unclear about whether they differentiate between the café and the restaurant, as it seems to be the case on their website, but this distinction isn’t really obvious when you’re there—though it probably doesn’t matter much in practice. The exterior appeared to be a popular gathering spot for locals—artists, readers, writers, and other fascinating individuals. Definitely worth a visit!"
