"Cosy cafe and restaurant. In daytime it is a high quality cafe with really nice food. In the evenings the lights are lowered and the place takes on the characteristics of a lovely local restaurant. You simply get much much more than expected. The portions are a good size and the quality of ingredients and qualiy of cooking are excellent. This restaurant competes well with the best in Weybridge. It is well worth taking a trip to Oaklands village and experience a welcoming special place. We have tried the Sunday lunch which was large and tasty. The meat was soft and juicy. Prefect roasted potatoes and a nice gravy. More cost effective and better than the local pubs. My wife loves the fish. The chef is experienced and has decades of experience and cares about each dish. You can talk directly with the chef and he will adjust the recipe to your desires. Did I mention they also have a licence? so crack open the vino and raise a glass. Other days I have tried the sea food linguine which tasted as nice as the ones I have had in Italy. There are a nice collection of desserts. If you take one thing away from this review and that is ‘home made creme brûlée’. Imagine it. Delicious. Mums and dads with little ones are welcome all the time. Parents from the local schools are regulars and kids are welcomed. The cafe has that family welcoming vibe that you get in Europe. The kids pick up on the friendly atmosphere and In return are well behaved and the parents are responsible. We have visited in daytime and night time. Both are excellent value for money."

"We took my Mum and Dad for Afternoon Tea at the Woodlands Park Hotel as a treat to celebrate their recent 90th and 95th Birthdays. The food and drink was excellent but the service was very disappointing in two respects. Firstly we arrived in good time for our 3.30pm booking slot but I stood at Reception desk for a full 10 minutes and was completely ignored. The one member of staff behind the desk was sorting out an IT problem over the phone and completely blanked me not even an I 'll be with you in a minute . After 10 minutes I set off round the hotel to try to find any member of staff who might be able to tell me where we needed to go (the website suggests that Afternoon Tea can be taken in any one of three rooms but our reservation confirmation did not state which). I found a member of staff and was directed to the Oak Room. The second disappointment was that the two staff serving Afternoon Tea clearly had no idea about the etiquette if taking afternoon tea . We were given our pots of tea a full 10 minutes before any food arrived. Eventually I had to ask one of the staff when we might expect some food (by now we had been at the Hotel for 40 minutes). It is not unreasonable to expect food and drink for Afternoon Tea to be served at about the same time. None of us wanted to drink a lot of tea first and then not have room for sandwiches and cakes. The other disappointment was the general decor in the Oak Room. It lacked the special atmosphere which you would normally expect for a formal Afternoon Tea. I 'm sorry to say, but I cannot recommend this venue for Afternoon Tea."
