"Manima is a very good address to eat Laotian food. They have a lot of option vegetarian and non vegetarians will definitely find something that will please them. Because we read on Tripadvisor that the spring rolls were very good we ordered them as...a starter. We ordered the vegetarian Jor and the Jor Kau with vegetables. The simple Jor were tasty, but I can't understand the hype. It were just good spring rolls. The Jor Kau weren't my thing but my friend liked them more then the simple Jor so I guess it is a question of taste. As a main dish we had Geang Curry Leang and Pa Naeng, both curry's with rice as a side dish. Both dishes were very good and we can only recommend them. For drinks we had Mango and Maracuja Mintschorle, which were very refreshing. We also ordered some Cocktails, which were also nice. The service was the only reason why I only give 4 points. The waiters were very stressed and not really attentive. For 15min we tried to catch the waiters attention to ask for more rice but it was almost as if he was ignoring us. The issue with the rice was another reason for only 4 points. It was really not much rice for two persons so we asked for more rice. We are used to it that if we ask for more rice/bread or so, it isn't billed as a courtesy of the restaurant. Not at Manima. Here you have to pay for it. For me this kind of behaviour isn't really customer friendly. But all in all it's a nice place to eat. I recommend to make a reservation."

Palmenhaus

Palmenhaus

Hauptstraße 13, 40597, Düsseldorf, Germany

"When you hear the representations of regular customers, the Benrather Palmenhaus is perceived as an institution. After our unique visit, something was shown. A place is always as good as the people who work there and in the gastronomy, especially how to feel it yourself. It is easy to say that it has been experienced differently due to the situation, as well as a long service life. It is true that, as in most cases with a provider of Greek cuisine, the portions are extremely large and therefore the price-performance ratio is true. On the other hand, if either one of the operators can no longer be seen for a very long time, or if a few people again shortly after a “ignorance” later, you ask for “coordination” from all! Maybe we caught a “bad” day, but some of the meats weren’t so cleaned of quality. But what should be shown to me as the biggest problem is that the tile department can only be reached via a steep spiral staircase and it is unfortunately not suitable for disabled people. For these reasons, there is no more than an OK in it, even if the aforementioned regular customers could see it differently. The palm house is centrally located in the Benrather main road and yet it is quite inconspicuous from the outside. One follows a tiled passage before reaching its door at its end. If you want to eat here as a foreigner, it is recommended to place the vehicle on the P R parking next to the station. Otherwise it will be difficult. I cannot mention the costs involved. One has to say that, among other things, the different stops at the Urdenbacherallee make parking impossible there. In a shop window you can already view the menu cards and choose one of the dishes immediately. The experience made it a little slower. I find it worth mentioning that the restaurant continues to offer a lunch where about 10 specialties are available. In the meantime, I find it a bit expensive, because even an appetizer noodles are at 10 €, a maximum of 16,90 €. Can't even say if I should ever decide. I don't want to exclude it. Due to the current regulations we were assigned to a table. In summer, it is recommended to choose a place outside my view. For this, the whole restaurant must be crossed before it is finished. They are sitting in a kind of pergola and even if there is not the naming palms, plentiful green, but there is still here as cloudy as it was, good. I'd rather leave it out. One should not be surprised that the chairs are not the most convenient: they are the simple wooden folding chairs. From my point of view, the condition that was on him was no longer because it was already very thin. It is necessary to “possibly” with other guests on “Cuscle Course”. Despite Corona, there were only Plexiglas discs between the individual tables that are very close to each other. It was pretty crowded at night. It is therefore recommended if it is not a very spontaneous decision as we can always make a table for ourselves! If that is not acceptable for whatever reason, it can happen to us that, despite a request, it is not possible: this has not only surprised us but also disappointed us because it was in the smoking area, which we would rather avoid! It was not a good start, so as soon as something was released and the order was waiting for us to “self-will” to be implemented. We also announced this on the next occasion of the operation, which has not been commented on inexplicably! On the map you will find Greek classics, specialties of the house, fish, small items and regular seasonal offers. One should bring a great appetite to create such a grill plate as we ordered it. As I discovered it on the HP linked here, they catch at €17.90, which I would like to continue to call favorable, in the abundance that is found on the plate! We chose the Santorini plate. What we liked less was that on the wish of one of the two, without serving rice, and instead only the pommes that were even brought on another dish were not fulfilled. What had made us a very chaotic impression that on the one hand nobody felt "responsible" for our table, on the other hand: "is not mine, say my colleagues." So it happened that at times that should not be, we had to get completely without drinks. Before I could make the order, it took a long time. Rather, the guests who have come to us for a long time and we sat there still hungry, without “bearance” on a change! After this had been regulated, it took about 40 minutes until the steam plate had "reached" us; . Not everyone likes everything so that I exchanged my minced meat Suzuki, Souvlaki – should have been desalinated for lamb and turkey : It happens to me that the card has been significantly changed since then. The grill plate also includes pork, turkey steak and pork fillet. The latter and the lamb were delicious. The steaks were too dry for me personally, and it also concerned the gyros. Fritten were good. The added salad was nothing special and the sauce tasted more like the finished product: . I found the rice. Not only after me, the passage into the sanitary rooms was difficult. The stairs as such are very narrow, so you usually have to be patient before you can enter them yourself. I personally felt it pretty steep. As I mentioned at the outset, it was not intended for cyclists because nothing else is available to them! In such a huge restaurant, which would be possible from my point of view and with relatively little effort if operators would consider such a solution at all! For the reasons described, I made a lot of assessment. The location and value for money speak for them. On the other hand, employees also regarding communication and in part the quality of the meat. We are undecided when and when there will be another visit."
