"The Good Friday has been inseparably connected with fish since my childhood days in terms of food, and for some, the Good Friday is still a strict fasting day. The Good Friday has been celebrated at least since the second century and it was originally impossible to eat or drink at all this day. To this day, he is considered to be a strict day of fasting in the Catholic Church: believers older than 14 years of age are not allowed to take any meat on that day, Catholics between 18 and 60 are allowed only a single saturation on Good Friday. Only the enjoyment of fish dishes was and is allowed, as fish are symbols of Christian faith, because the fish used to be a secret sign of the first Christians. They drew a fish to their meeting places. I was reminded of this tradition by the culinary calendar for March of the country guest house, which we had read during our visit four weeks ago. And since we enjoyed it there, we decided to accept the Good Friday fish offer, but not because Good Friday was, but because we like fish very much. This time we were four. Around 12 a.m. we parked in front of the house, and in the restaurant we were welcomed by the service lady who worried us last time. She led us to the reserved table, took the jackets and brought them to the wardrobe. This time we sat in the front restaurant room, which is simple-elegant, friendly and bright, naturally also due to the large windows overlooking the Heerse Water Castle (1599, a former “Imperial Free-world High-Level Ladies’ Pen”, today a museum dedicated to various areas. The tables are covered with strengthened white fabric tablecloths and napkins, a small middle ceiling, cutlery, a tea light in a larger glass and a high vase with fresh flowers. Hübsch looks the whole, not overloaded, friendly, for feeling well, also thanks to the comfortable, padded chairs. The menus were immediately handed along with the question of an aperitif, after which we were not today. But that had nothing to do with fasting! Also the large bottle of water (4.80 € not, which the three other ladies shared. As a driver, I remained only the alcohol-free beer (Veltins at €2.40). The Good Friday Fish Card offered a four-course menu with Zanderfilet as main dish at €29.80, but since I already knew the size of the portions of the three-speed menu from the last time, I then “fasted” and this menu, so tempting it sounded, not selected, but “Original Nordic Matjesfilets with Schmanddippkart’s number 11, salads and A friend also chose this, the third decided for the “freshly roasted trout from the spring pond, with fresh salads and roast potatoes” (17,90 €, and the fourth chose from the “Sylter Flair” page of the standard card “3 Matjesfilets with roast potatoes and fresh salads” at 11,40 €. The waiting time was just acceptable, our food came to the table, and it was nicely arranged. The roasted potatoes/red potatoes were placed separately. I missed a sash with the smanding tip. The Matjesfilets were draped on the salad, rolled a fillet, and I discovered something white in it. The Dipp! I tried, no, a hint with spices/drumbs or cucumbers or apple slices was not that, but the pure shame. Then the first bite from the original Nordic Matjes, no original Nordic was not that, but it tasted clearly after a marinade of vinegar and otherwise anything else I could not define more precisely, but it tasted excellent, especially in combination with the pure taste. However, I found only two fillets on my salad unlike three fillets from the standard card at almost identical price and same supplements. After my question at the service lady, she disappeared into the kitchen and came back with the information that was Sherry-Matjes. Oh! So not original Nordic as offered in the menu? The lady was a little embarrassed, but wanted to ask again in the kitchen. Nevertheless, the Matjes was, as already said as Sherry matjes, excellent, quite large, thick, not too hard, not too soft, I would like to have had a third fillet. The fresh different leaf salads in a plentiful amount, mixed with a very tasty, light sensation. The roast potatoes, which were called by this Matjes court on the map of roast potatoes, were intended for all four. Well seasoned, with bacon and onions, no after seasoning is required, but for me they had too few roast staroms, and that's why I got roast potatoes. What is the difference between roast potatoes and roast potatoes? The three others were also very satisfied with their food. This time a dessert was added to everyone. It should be something “icey” and that offered the dessert card also: “The Melt” – vanilla and chocolate ice cream with tender-melting caramel, crispy almonds and cream for 5,00 €. High quality ice cream, chocolate very dark, cream, caramel, almonds – melting and cracking, just good! (And of course that had nothing to do with fasting anymore! Separate billing and payment was easy. My question of whether the kitchen has once again expressed its opinion on the price calculation of the two Matjes dishes denied the service lady. “I’m just taking 2.00 off as compensation for your not complete satisfaction, I can already represent it to the boss!” This was not my intention to achieve a reduction in prices, we were very satisfied with the food and also recommend after the 2nd. Visit this restaurant!"
