"Wir gehen eigentlich immer, wenn wir in Arbon weilen, in die Ilge zum Abendessen, nach längerer Zeit waren wir im September wieder dort, und, wie immer, es war die reine Freude, einfach nur ein Genuss, sowohl die Tagliatelle mit Pilzen, wie auch der Risotto waren herrlich zubereitet. Ein besonderer Genuss, die Pouletbrust im Kräutermantel, ich habe bisher nie ein derart gute Pouletbrust vorgesetzt bekommen, herzlichen Dank an Michaela in der Küche und das ganze Personal, welches uns sehr gut bediente, wir werden mit Freude wieder in der Ilge einkehren"

Das Servicepersonal zuvorkommend.Leider sind gewisse Teile der Gartenterrasse sehr schlecht beleuchtet. Wir konnten nur sehr schwer sehen was wir essen. "Restaurant Romerhof is truly a gem of a place. When we arrived, I was instantly charmed by the friendliness of the staff. There was a ‘homely’ feel to the place. Our waiter (a lovely man from Seychelles) took our order. I ordered the crab salad,...which featured a tian and mango salad along with deep fried soft shell crab and sweet chilli sauce. It was simply divine. My main course was a Mauritian Chicken and Prawn Curry. It was a fantastic curry, and please, if you are reading this, don’t be afraid from ordering it if you are concerned about heat: it was aromatic, fresh and full of flavour. Chef Gerald came to our table a few times. He tailored the dish to me in terms of spice, and I’m proud to say that I walked away with a pot of his homemade chilli sauce that he kindly gave to me. My boyfriend’s dish was the Beef Fillet Steak and Mash. The mash was so smooth and buttery and he could have cut through his steak with a butter knife: a perfect choice for all of us meat aficionados out there. Desserts were sublime. The apple tart melted in the mouth. The cheese wagon was an absolute delight: with a selection of five cheeses, nuts, honey and fruit bread, all sliced and served at the table. All in all, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. The price to some, may appear slightly dear, but in my opinion, our meal was worth every single penny. Thank you again to our waiter; Gerald and Dominique for a memorable evening, and we will certainly be returning again."

"Leider nicht mehr wie früher. Wir waren immer gerne und oft auch schon damals in Arbon Gast bei euch. Gyros wird jetz mit Dönerspiess gemacht und nicht mehr mit feinen saftigen ganzen Pouletfilet stücken. Auch die Pommes waren nicht mehr frisch. Sehr schade dass es nicht mehr die gleiche Qualität ist wie anfangs. Hoffe sehr dass ihr in Zukunft wieder richtige Hähnchenstücke in Gyros packt."

"This hotel should be called “Hell Bells”…small old-fashioned room, (9m2 maximum without shower, bathtub or toilet…just a mini hand basin…very poor quality bed…no chair because there is no space…a shower and a toilet for the entire first floor… very hot night of August 23… no air conditioning… impossible to sleep with window open with the bells located right next to it… they ring every 15 minutes and in addition tick off the hours (11 p.m. 11 bells … window closed, shutters and curtains closed, it doesn't change anything! We hear all the noises from the corridor, from the street, from the path that runs alongside the hotel... the door to the room (12 closes with difficulty. We only slept three or four hours... In France, a hotel like this would be closed by the authorities. We are cycling around the Bodensee, this hotel is the worst around the lake….run away!!! All this for 181€ (Swiss Francs/Euro exchange bank charges..! . Warning sign: this is the only hotel that charges…before having seen the room!!! Strongly not recommended!!! Even the fire escape plan was drawn up by hand…"
