"Dad Son Tuesday beer night visited The Woolpack Inn at Islip for the first time. These are my initial thoughts after one visit. We didn 't eat. I say 'beer night ' but we came looking for low-alcohol, in my case as the driver. It 's a nicely positioned pub on the corner, looking quite welcoming as you drive up and we 'll presented. Plenty of parking, though much of it was taken when we arrived, I managed to fit in down near the pub. It 's a decent, large dining pub inside, having a restaurant and bar area at first sight. Lots of picnic tables at the front seating outside. They had half a dozen tables outside taken on a warm night. The range of non-alcoholic beers was OK, if not extensive. Service was a bit cursory when we arrived from the young woman serving but otherwise fair enough. The toilets were clean and in good repair. We 'll come back another time and I 'll aim to pop in and try the food separately but you can check the menus in Google Maps and hopefully on the pub website. I can 't comment on the rooms at all. Good visit. We 'll add The Woolpack to our regular list."

Food was nice but expensive. Service slow. Possibly due to being a Saturday.

Great place to go for a pint, drink or to eat. Very pretty pub and location. The price of food is the only reason for the missing star. But the food is nice and the atmosphere great.

Lovely find on the way back home. Great quality local food and good value for money. My only criticism is that there isn't a disabled toilet and as a wheelchair user, that is pretty crucial.

Tasty, gourmet, homemade food! Plenty of GF options and vegan/vegetarian options. Awesome curry and fresh pita bread. Followed by the best dessert I’ve ever had! (Crème brulee! 10/10 recommend :D We left a tip too : Voir le carte

I went for a Sunday afternoon dinner with friends and the roast beef dinner was amazing, kid’s menu was perfect and the staff are always absolutely brilliant. Nice, clean, warm, friendly atmosphere. I have since been returning on a be more regular basis and every experience has been absolutely fantastic… food is always great and all meats used in the restaurant are locally sourced from the local butcher… 100% top quality.

After trying to find somewhere that still served food on a Sunday evening, we had a lovely meal at the Woolpack. Starters were creamy garlic mushrooms panko prawns, followed by mains of Roast beef, hunters chicken pie with mash. All food came out hot full of flavour with plenty of food on the plate. Service was friendly, polite efficient Only small comment- with the pie, perhaps serve the gravy in a small jug rather than all over the meal, then the option is whether you have a soggy crust or not !! Would recommend the Woolpack look forward to returning soon

"this was my birthday contract with the children (in their 40's go to lunch big situation, but the management is missing in action. we smiled at the typos. the menu, but it turned out to be a symptom of deficiency...view to detail. very friendly (but quite inexperienced waiting staff. great location and a very warm welcome. water came pretty fast. the starters were pretty good (3 ham hock croquettes and a panko chicken. the mains were another thing. two fish and chips very nice, good portions and well presented. burger was terrible. here is the menu description 6oz coarsely ground beef burger, candied speck, soft bevel, cheddar cheese, salattomate . the reality was a burger in a bungalow with a piece soggy salat and maybe some cheese. no speck, no tomats, no wobble so £18 for an average qualitysburger and they have to pay extra for riders! To conclude that there was at least 5 10 minutes after the other net, so we sat just wait and had to ask the waitress when it came. description • crispy confit ente bein, herby buttermilk waffel, fried due egg with maple senf dressing the reality that was inspected and watery it looked out and tasted as if it were boiled to death. the herby buttermilk waffel was chewing and certainly in a blind taste test I would swear that there is no more crumble in. to cover, it was cold. the sniffing was nicely spread in the waffles that gave them a taste. we also ordered the knochenmark from the menu. No one had said to the poor waitress that they should have been ordered to tell the diners what was going on and no. the menu. when we complained, the manager had not even come the courtesy and see us they left the poor junior waiterin to explain that the speck had not come with the delivery to the last day (one ever heard that he jumps out of the super market to buy some? and there was no excuse for the missing tomats, very badly sorry for us, so on. desserts the brownie was very nice, but the eton mess was a catastrophe. it came in a small delicate glass. in the ground a buckling of whipped cream with some slabs of stone hard meringue and some earthy with stems overfilled with some earthberry syrup. after bending the spoon. we decided to solve it by hand. I was afraid that I would break a tooth on the notched position that really needed to be served with a hammer. the only way to eat the earthy was to pick them up from the body, to bite and to eat to which time our hands were covered in sauce. on the plus side, they drew the price of the burger and Eton fair and 25% of the duck, as we had 3 glasses of wine and a koks, the bill was still over £120 without drinking money. to say that by my choice of restaurants, I would be embarrassing a rough understatement."
