"After reading some of the reviews on here, it’s hard to believe we were in the same place. So run down it’s embarrassing. Frontage tatty and unloved no pretty tubs of flowers like in the photos. Garden unkempt, long grass, untrimmed hedges so no views. Dirty, mould covered marquee covering most of the outside seating. Inside, the whole downstairs area was closed off including the toilets (tough if you’re disabled). Flight of stairs up to upstairs bar and then flight of external steps back down to garden. Bar was tired and dated, tables sticky, upstairs loos had no paper towels. Open for drinks only the day we went which wasn’t a problem as we certainly wouldn’t have eaten there. Such a shame as it’s in a location to die for."

Great meal and nice atmosphere. Fish and chips were really good as where the fish cakes and vindaloo curry. Nice pint of beer, what’s not to like? Voir le carte

Went in for a meal with two friends last night and tried the six hour slow cooked rib and can quite honestly say it’s one of the tastiest males I’ve had in a very long time absolutely delicious and great value for money..

The food was recommended on our last visit for a drink so we came back and weren't disappointed really great Thai Style Veggie Burger and a Chicken curry that was lovely. The food is all made to order and from fresh ingredients very tasty indeed!

11/6/23 We came here as a family meet up. This pub is beautiful and offers moorings for the boaters! The staff are so incredibly friendly and attentive, tables are clean and set. The food was absolutely outstanding. Homemade ketchup and mint sauce! We definitely will be returning soon. Thank you everyone who made our visit memorable in all the best ways. See you soon! Went here today (30/04/23) and what a disappointment. The Sunday dinner came out with no Yorkshire pudding and when i pointed this out i was told it would be another 15 minutes….it never came. The stuffing was actually that cold i presumed it had come straight from the fridge. The vegetables were cold to touch and very few provided. When asked how was the meal and i explained it was cold and missing items the reply was ‘ohh i was never told that’ then nothing further was said. Terrible food, not much better service, no apology, waste of time and money.

Last year, we had one of the best Sunday lunches ever at The Waterfront so this year we took a special detour to repeat the experience. The lamb meal was average at best with both the cauliflower and roast potatoes having a strange taste. The vegetarian option was a disaster and we should have sent it back. It was a beetroot wellington, overspiced with cinnamon. The chef could not find the dish (pre prepared and frozen) and seems to have microwaved it not a good move with puff pastry, and it was served as a rubbery mess of pastry surrounding something that tasted more of a hot cross bun than a vegetarian roast. Sorry but we won't be going again.

"We stayed here ten years ago and thought it was wonderful and worth every penny. We were so excited to return, but really Disapointed. The grounds are lovely and we were pleased with our room. The children loved the outdoor space and the pool What really let us down was the food and service. There was no luxury here. The family dining choices were poor. The children's meal was bad one had fish gougons and sweet potato fries which were very salty. The other two had pizza, the small was served as half a pizza, the large was a conventional round shape. Both were shop bought bases (cardboard) with grated Cheddar on the top. Something I would not feed them at home let alone expect in a supposedly high end dining. My husband's steak was chewy. My main, whole plaice with creamed potatoes, the potato was served in a ceramic dish and it was cold. It was taken away and then took ten minutes to return by which point I had eaten the fish. The food was incredibly expensive considering how poor the offerings were. The next day we ate a very late lunch in Bath so we would not have to eat at the hotel. The breakfast buffet area had some nice items but was really understocked and allowed to run to empty. The staff functioned but not at a steady rate, we found the service slow and the staff disinterested. Such a contrast to our previous visit. The person in charge we found sullen and felt as if our presence was an inconvenience. When we walked through to the dining areas we would hop out of the staff'so way for fear of being bulldozed. When we left the receptionist was polite but did not ask if we enjoyed our stay. A week later I had an email to complete a survey and nobody got in touch despite the same feedback as given here. Very dispointing. Lovely room and surroundings but poor food and poor attitude from staff. Last year we stayed in a hotel that cost 65% less than Wooley Grange and had a much better experience."
