"We went to Jolesch because Time Out recommended it. It looked great when we arrived – buzzy, friendly, cool... but looks can be deceiving and in this case they were. We were initially sat at a table next to the toilets and we asked to be moved, so maybe we got off to a bad start. We ordered wine and the bottle was simply placed on our table without even being opened for us. We saw the waiter pouring other tables’ wine. I asked for a little help translating the menu. I had been speaking German until that point. The waiter replied ‘I don’t have time’ and slammed the English menus on the table. The main course took a very long time to arrive. We had nearly finished the wine when it did, so ordered another bottle. It didn’t come so we asked another waiter. When it eventually arrived we had finished our food so we asked for two glasses instead of a bottle. And that was the end of the service. We were ignored after that. We were not offered dessert or coffee so we paid and left. Perhaps they don’t like foreign tourists. We are going to suggest to Time Out that they take Jolesch off their list before these rude people spoil someone else’s evening. As for the food, it was ok but nothing special. Expensive for what it was."

The portion of Schnitzel Wiener Art was, unfortunately, somewhat small and the supplement disappears. We had to wait 1 hour for our food. Voir le carte

The quality of the kitchen is excellent. The service staff is very courteous and friendly and the atmosphere is very cozy. We will go to the Jolesch for dinner more often in the future. Top recommendation!!

What a great evening! We had our Christmas dinner with 10 people in Jolesch and got the vault room, so we were among us and were still perfectly disposed. The food was megalecker, we are very excited! Thank you very much!

We were seated immediately on arrival and offered the menus. Service and help choosing wines was friendly and professional. Food was great (Schnitzels were delicious and so was the potato salad they were served with. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Berlin! Voir le carte

My guest and I were extremely disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. The food was awful, especially the Fried Wiener Schnitzel which had no taste at all. The majority of the staff were unfriendly, with the exception of one nice guy who left early. This restaurant may have had potential at one point, but now it is a shadow of its former self.

Our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. Despite the hype and positive reviews, we found the staff to be arrogant. We were only there for a quick meal, but it seems like we were not considered important enough. The restaurant was not very busy, yet we were left waiting with empty plates in front of us for 10 minutes. The manager was too busy on their phone to check on us or ask if we wanted dessert. The Schnitzel, which is said to be the best in the city, was decent but nothing special. Overall, we left with a feeling of dissatisfaction after our visit.

"Drove from Newcastle for a lovely walk in Hulne Park to work up an appetite for the light lunch we had booked at Bari. Temperature taken at the door, all hygiene precautions followed. Social distancing strictly observed, including taking contact details. Soup with a cheddar and mustard scone was delicious. I had sweet potato and leek a combination I would never have thought of, but now may need to make it. Absolutely delicious. The roasted veg was equally delicious, and very filling. The cheese and mustard scones are to die for and huge! Nor do they skimp on the butter, which is always a (not so secret) niggle of mine. Be warned we booked for 1.15pm, and the soup was almost gone. Be early or be disappointed! For those with a sweet tooth, a delicious selection of cakes was on offer and ice cream is locally sourced. The menu includes tasting notes on all the teas on offer, which can also be bought in the little shop. The tea is served complete with tea bag tweezers and disposal container, and an egg timer. Customers are given instructions on the best amount of time to allow for the brewing of their chosen tea. The shop has testing jars so you can smell the teas to aid your purchase. If you are not a tea lover, other drinks, including filter coffee, are available. Perhaps not the best note on which to end, but the hygiene in the loo is amazing. Sanitising wipes are provided so you can clean the essentials after use (and before, if you wish) AND it is twinned with a loo in Africa. A fabulous touch so to speak. I highly recommend Bari for a real tea experience"

"Had a really bad vegan option experience here today. The pub itself is in a great location, it 's very quirky and traditional. It 's often quite difficult when eating out with family to find a place that has some decent vegan options. Having looked at the menu, there seemed to be a few decent vegan options for us to try. My sister had the chicken and mango sandwich, which she said was tasty. I had the only vegan sandwich option, which was allegedly pulled BBQ Jack fruit . It was cold,it wasn 't pulled at all, more likely tipped out of the tin and smothered in a cheap BBQ sauce. It was awful. It was served on the same bread everyone else 's sandwiches were served on,which has now sent alarm bells ringing, and it came with fries and coleslaw, which I didn 't eat,as I just didn 't trust it was vegan. The salad just looked limp and very sad. Having made pulled jackfruit at home , I know for sure this had definitely not been pulled. If you offer a vegan option, then at least make the effort, make sure everything on the plate is 100% vegan, and stop charging the same price as you do for the meat and fish options. It 's simply outrageous that something that clearly took little effort or passion to create is the same price as every regular sandwich. Really wished we tried Dirty Bottle instead. Nothing worse than eating complete rubbish when you 're famished. No vegan pale ale either !!!How hard can it be ?"
