"We had a wonderful meal last night. Opted for the taster menu and they were prepay to amend the choice slightly to cater for personal likes/dislikes. Staff were lovely, knowledgeable, friendly and super efficient. Absolutely nothing to point fault at BRILLIANT"

"We are absolutely disgusted with the service, had read the good reviews so got there early and what I assume was the landlady gave a friendly welcome. We placed our food order and we commented that we had timed our arrival well since a large party then arrived along with other couples all ordering food, after a while the adjacent table to our was served with fish and chips we assumed we would be next despite other tables ordering after us being served, after virtually an hour waiting my wife went to the bar to enquire as to our food not arriving only to be told the printer had run out of paper and the order had not gone through but was offered to put it though again, bearing in mind we were now behind about a dozen orders so my wife refused this and we left. The most annoying factor was the land lady had seen we had no food despite taking the order herself yet when we complained at the bar she did not even acknowledge us or check what the problem was. She continued to sit at a table near us writing out the specials on a notice board. No offer of complimentary drinks absolutely nothing so we went to the Greyhound at Hickling and had great service and an excellent meal."

"We drove to The Broads in Sutton Staithe. The hotel was fully booked, so we decided to go to The Crown Inn, which was about a mile away. After navigating through various paintings, we finally found the pub. The staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. I would say it was the best meal we had on our vacation. Overall, I would highly recommend this place. However, I would advise booking a taxi in advance like we did to get back to the hotel."

"We first visited this place for Sunday lunch I had booked it as a surprise for my husband ,when I told him the area he wasn’t impressed until we entered the restaurant,then his impressions changedAs you walk in you are shown to a lovely setted area with settees and log fire to sit and order your drink ,then your glasses are taken for you to your table,you are treated properly sir and madam which really makes a change nowadays We as a middle aged couple hate being called guys Which seems to be the norm Back to the mermaids slipper we had appetisers,then lovely home made bread which was delicious,then main course, oh and had to have pudding to get the whole experience the whole time the staff where efficient and polite. So last night valentines my husband had booked to eat here again as we where so impressed , he was very lucky to get in as he got a cancellation the menu was a set menu , which I will add a picture as to much to mention ,the food here is very different,the fish and chips , you automatically think is deep fried ,not this ,it was a lovey cod loin in a sauce with new potato crisps all very nice the menu was done as a scroll with heart ribbon and a fresh red rose to take home the place was packed which says it all . They also donate some proceeds to a charity So if you want a special meal try here I don’t think you will be disappointed,I’m a fussy eater and love the whole experience and your treated as people not a table number Keep up the good work we will be back"

"A very nice pub with a selection of different local ales and ciders. As I was driving later I went for a pint of Fosters, thinking this would be a non complicated choice and I wouldn’t want another. How wrong could I be. This supposed simple lager was full of malty notes on the nose and the pallet. I noticed it was served slightly warmer than most other places so maybe that’s why it had more flavour. I didn’t eat here but lots were and the portions looked generous and the food good. I hope to get back here next year, if not sooner."
