"After a week of good food on our Forte Dei Marmi holiday, we decided to further spoil ourselves and have a nice last dinner at Il Parco in Villa Grey. Restaurant is set in a beautiful manicured garden, so we had high hopes. We were 3 adults one child. After ordering, the waiter did ask if we we had any allergies. I informed him that I have celery allergy in any kind of pieces however it is fine if it is in sauces. I ordered the King Crab Salad with gazpacho sauce and agnolotti with various seafood as a main. My family ordered the spaghetti with 3 kinds of tomatoes to start with and Iberian pork as a main. My entre came out, I took one spoonful and immediately bit into shaved celery. Called the waiter, they took my meal away, said sorry, brought it back in somehow reduced crab amount (looked like they scraped it off my last plate but left a significant portion on the other plate) and sitting on a bed of shaved fennel however no one poured the gazpacho sauce on my meal anymore the second time around. It was bland to say the least, nothing sang on my plate or was in any shape outstanding. My family's pasta was just a pasta, very basic, you probably can cook same yourself. Main meal arrives, looks nice not Michelin star nice but nice, waiter comes rushing saying that the chef has put celery on my meal but it's cooked, so is that ok? I said deflated, its not ok but you know what, I will put the few pieces on the side (was slightly over it by then). With an ok he left. Agnolotti was completely tasteless, salt was missing, seafood sat in an under seasoned sauce I could not identify. The pork was also just ok, but the highlight was apparently the sauce which I tasted and was fantastic. Another highlight were the house made sweets which came at the end of dinner free with coffee. To summarise: Not sure if we caught a bad night however in Forte Dei Marmi you can eat much better in other Michelin starred restaurants, good restaurants and normal restaurants. I had the feeling there was no passion on the plate that you expect from a chef of this level. Go to Franco Mare for one of a kind experience to feel the passion of cooking and he does not have a star YET (its definitely coming for this chef)."
