"Had afternoon tea at the castle. Beautiful setting, delicious food, the only draw back was the lack of attention of the waiting staff! The young lad who was usually behind the counter and alone was too busy looking at his phone, we all know that stance they take when pretending not to be looking at it! Needed a few more senior members to be keeping a closer eye on the kids. As a place like Amberley you'd expect them to be on high alert to the customer, one look and they are there. One group of ladies even had to get up and go and demand their attention. Would have got 5 stars if the staff were better. Service: 4 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Romantic"

Although I have stayed overnight at Amberley Castle in the past, our purpose in busting the venue this time was have. Unfortunately, they had a wedding and the restaurant was closed. I met two two members of staff and they were abrupt and unhelpful. Service: 2 Location: 5

Came for dinner really nice location, staff our trained to a high level everyone was kind, polite and respectful friendly. Food was very good but wasn't outstanding as the service except for the pastry chef. The tarte tatin and after dinner the chocolate's were beyond words the flavours were so on point. We had our wedding here on the 17th of August. The whole experience was absolutely outstanding! For us this will be our benchmark for service and room quality. The food was some of the most beautiful and delicious ever. The staff remained efficient, professional friendly throughout even though they could do with more. We have just returned from Afternoon tea at Amberley Castle. The Castle is stunning as are the grounds , the food was excellent however it was let down by inattentive staff we had a very long wait at the beginning and in between the sandwiches and the cakes . We were never asked once if everything was ok and we were happy with everything . I had to ask several times for more tea and the one waitress never smiled once . Such a shame this was an occasion for three ladies who had taken care of our mum and I wanted it to be special . Let badly down by the service . Service: 2 Location: 5
